Kitchron chairs.
Kitchen/Chevron.. stretch?  Ah well it's been a long week and this remix speaks mostly for itself.

$2.75 per chair.  These beauts were in decent shape.  I hated the gold mixed with the outer space speckled paint on the rest of the chair, but there aint too many things easier to repaint than metal

So with a can of spray paint and some awesome fabric 40% off I cooked up something sizzlin'

Keepin' it Classy

Saturdays often are filled with basketball, soccer, cleaning, grocery shopping and lots of other obligations squished all in between.  But every now and again in between these events I find myself sneaking off to the Goodwill or thrift store.  I'm hoping to move up to the BIG LEAGUES sometime in the near future and venture off to a flea market, but I dream.

I found a boring predictable office chair at the GOODWILL and took her home with me for about 5$

I had a can of Black high gloss spray paint, a screw driver, a staple gun, and some cute fabric and I gave her a new outfit.  Hope she gets the job done and gets noticed in the office now!

It was just like an episode of "What not to wear" well maybe not EXACTLY like an episode but still.

Everybody LOVES a Cherrydo

Get it... cherrydo. cherry do.. chair redo.. yep I love the game MADGAB!
Anywho I also really REALLY love when I am able to snag a cheap good bones chair with a cushion.  This cute dainty little lady was at the GOODWILL and I took her floral little self home with me for about 5$.  She took a little trip to the spa and is now refreshed and remixed.  Is it creepy that I'm giving her a real persona?  Ya I know :/

Tried a pinterest DIY craft

This is a pinterest craft all my own!
I bought this lovely foam wreath at my first visit to Hobby Lobby!  I had big plans for this baby.. And by big plans I mean no plans at all.  I meandered the store for a while and then I stumbled upon an idea.  I would wrap this wreath with this cute burlap and remembered the letters aisle.  I ran back over there and an idea was born....

I rolled the burlap into "roses" mmmm. okay ya that's what they look like right?  Then I hot glued them to the wreath that was wrapped in the cute red and khaki burlap. I spray painted "H" and hot glued the letter to the wreath.  The letter was incredibly light so I knew it wouldn't be a problem, however the problem was when I went to hang it on my front door I realized you couldn't even see the "H" due to my door being black... no problem right.  Well after pouting about it and being frustrated.  I painted the "H" in the this leftover blue paint from my craft with the Crown Royal project.

And now here she is.... I sanded the edges and let the black show through and I still love it.  Oh happy endings are few and far between, but sweet.

A diamond in the rough... or something like that.  My little boy comes running inside with this nasty bottle of Crown Royal filled with mud water.. He was so excited and if I were a good mom I would have sanitized his little fingers and thrown this bottle
into a toxic waste bin, but a'las I am no such person.  Instead I hive-fived my five year old and made a little vase out of it!  I'm teaching them young.  First my sweet husband thoroughly washed the container

Next I spray painted it using chalk board paint.  I only did this because I didn't have any rustoleum at home and I am very impatient once I have a project in mind.  So it works fine and I barely had to use any.
Next I brush painted on some sample paint that I had in the garage it's Valspar but I can't remember the color and the garage is so far away... let's call it blueish.  Then I gently sanded the paint off where the glass was beveled and voula!  I love it!!!
Fun and SOOOO easy!! Now I'm sending my little off the to dump.. JK ;)

Welcome guest :)

Today's menu AWESOMENESS and fruit and some chalk.  I found this great old school t.v. tray at the local thrift store.. that's the name of the store so I'm not just being vague and trying to keep it all to myself.  I promise It was  1.99$ and I think I put a total of about 7 bucks into it and now I have this great little addition to my guest room.  This little tray has it all a chalkboard top and a foldable stand and the happy color of yellow. Yes that's having "it all" in my world!  ENJOY and stay as long as you like

It just took a little sanding some chalkboard spray paint (I barely used any at all so I still have practically the entire can for another project) and some sample paint from LOWES. I already had the chalk and fruit.

99$ Thrift store gold!

Needed a new table, didn't have the mula or the time to find the perfect one, so I did what I always do and I hit the thrift shop.  I found this gem for 99$ 5 chairs and a leaf.  It was a steal.  After going back and forth 8 million times on how I should remix this I decided to go a little funky fun with grey yellow and a colorful fabric for the seats  I have to add the plastic covering like Ray Romano's mama has on her couch because I have three boys and they are messy monkeys ( so am I )

Bench warmer

I inherited this lovely bench from a sweet neighbor.  I already have one very similar, but I never turn down free furniture and benches are so practical... I mean you can store things in them, sit on them and they can store things. I love benches.  But I wasn't loving this color so I got a wild hair and decided to upholster it in this outdoor canvas fabric and nailed in these awesome studs.  This didn't take me very long but I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

New Life, New Blood

This dresser if from the early 70's and because it is I knew I would be working with great workmanship and solid wood, I also knew that every single piece of furniture then was this orangey oak color. It's fine, but yawn what were we even talking about? Oh ya that dresser. My friend was threatening her hubby that it was trash unless he allowed her to redo it. He obliged and she gave me the opportunity to change this dresser's future. So instead of going to goodwill (which I love by the way) it got to stay in the home and even in their room! Everyone WINS!!! I sanded it painted it this wonderful color which escaping my mind right now and then used Annie Sloan wax to help age it and give it some more personality. Then we changed the handles and boom it's modern, antique, shabby, sheek... and caught a second chance at life. Amazing what a little makeup can do!

New identity

This was a fun little project because it was for a friend, which I don't often do, not because I don't want to just because usually my projects are for random strangers I've never met. This is a pottery barn children's table that was accidentally left outside overnight. Well here in the south that isn't good. There could be absolutely no sign of a storm and boom you've got 10" of rain like that. So I wanted to give this table the same purpose with a new identity. Something it could be proud of. What better than a namesake?
First I sanded down the beat up worn down rained on top, next I put sticker letters on the table then I spray painted it white, then I used a staining pen that you can get at any big box store and filled in the letters, finally I used minwax stain lightly all over it to give it a warm look.

***Rockin' Chair****

I love thriftin' through the Goodwill and other stores like it. I came across this little number and it was like I heard 80's music start to play, leading me to this old fixer upper. I brought it home and started immediately. Every now and then I see a piece that I know what I want to do the second I see it. This was one of those items. 04-10+12.34.22.jpg" /> There wasn't much prep work on this piece. I vacuumed the seat and back (They were eh stinky) and washed the wood. Then I spray painted it white and covered the seats with this very fun and trendy fabric. I love this. I can see it in a nursery or as an accent piece in many different settings.

So you remember these super 70's 80's tv consoles?  Yep me too, they're everywhere again these days just with a new wardrobe on.  Since t.v. cabinets have kind of gone extinct (as far as using them for t.v.'s anyways) these bad boys have made a retro come back!  Don't she look great in her new style?  I thought so, either way this console has a rebirth and only cost me 99 cents, yes less than a pack of gum!

Who knew Gray wasn"t the depressing color

Everyone has always associated gray with depressing.  It's like Eyeore's color and when the sky is sad it's gray and etc, but as of late gray has really transformed itself into one of the most refreshing colors of them all.  Especially paired with the right colors or accents gray can really be a standout choice!  Take for instance this drabby depressing nightstand that I found sitting all alone at the Habitat for Humanity.  I took it home sanded it down, cleaned it off and painted it gray.  I added a few decorative pieces and spray painted the pull black and now it's anything but depressing!

God Bless America!

love this re-do for the mere fact it's the American Flag, and...wait for it... a table!  Also I'm keeping this one and I paid 1$ for it.  All good things wouldn't ya say?

I just taped off the star and the stripes and it was as easy as pie.  Then I busted out the stain and wiped it all over then wiped some of that off.   Fun, easy, patriotic and cheap what's not to like?

What can a gal do with a coupla bucks and a little free time on her hands?  Well if you're creative and love to make cheap things that look expensive you can do a lot!  Went to the dollar store and picked up a few items and went to town!

Don't you just love this 3 tierd snack display 4th of July stand?  Me too and it cost me 5 dollars and about 2 minutes to put together.  Very festive and very frugal!  I'm a little obsessed with the dollar store lately!

My most very favorite transformation ever.  Why?  Because I thought this one out for a while ( well 48hrs ) which is a VERY long time for me to think about something before doing it.  Just ask anyone who knows me.  So I bought this at a garage sale.  The price tag said 45.00 and I thought to myself -Self no way, this has to be wrong, this is worth much much more than this.. So I asked the seller if it was really 45$ and he gleefully says to me, well it's 30$ if you want it.  WHA ?????  Heck yes I wanted it (in my Napolean Dynamite voice)  So we brought her home and I started to search online mostly at www.betterafter.blogspot.com for some hutch/dresser/vanity ideas.  I found one that I loved and then another and then I sort of combined the idea.  I dressed her up as if she were in a dining room or kitchen as well as a bedroom.  Hope you like it as much as I do!
